Policies & FAQ2023-05-29T08:16:47-08:00
  • We require full payment before we sign over the AKC registration papers.

  • Microchip implant and lifetime activation, plus the AKC registration, will be done by us for the additional charge of $160, as we will register the pup for you. This is not optional, as we want all our pups registered and microchipped.

  • Law requires us to collect a sales tax. This tax will vary depending on which state you purchased your pup in.

  • If you’re unable to pick your pup up we can consider safely shipping your pup for roughly $450 – this will have to be discussed.

  • We guarantee your puppy’s health against congenital and/or genetic defects for 24 months.

  • A $500 deposit is required to secure your puppy.

  • We require that you pledge to have your Labrador spayed or neutered. A contract for breeding rights can be drafted for $1,250. The tenets of this contract and surcharge are strictly to establish an agreement with the new owner that he/she will breed with love, care, and responsibility to protect the genetic constitution of the Purebred Labrador Retriever.

A $500 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your puppy. Accepted payments are: mailed certified check, money order, Western Union wire, or through PayPal (kellydeanbarker@gmail.com).

We cannot refund deposits under any circumstances! – It is critically important for us to find forever homes for our Labradors. So much goes on behind the scenes to make sure this happens! If for whatever reason, you discover that you or your family is not ready for one of our Labradors, that’s okay, but please contact us. We can help you re-home your Labrador.

The $300 deposit must be paid via a mailed certified check or PayPal (kellydeanbarker@gmail.com).

We’re looking for a purebred Labrador as a family pet. Will a Pointing Labrador be suitable?2018-04-26T11:41:35-08:00

Yes!

Although our primary goal at Bell’s Labradors is to breed dogs with exceptional hunting abilities, it is important to note the marriage between field ability and companionship. Your Pointing Labrador will have high intelligence and a need to please. You will love it as you would a close family member.

What dog food is recommended?2018-04-26T11:41:35-08:00

Hunting dogs are athletes and are sometimes much leaner than pet dogs of the same breeds. A Labrador being worked hard during a hunting trip will require 2,000 to 5,000 calories per day! Experts in hunting dog nutrition recommend feeding dogs a diet that has at least 25% protein and around 20% crude fat. Many big-box stores do not sell dog food that will keep your Labrador at peak performance and health.

There are a small handful of high quality brands for your Labrador. We recommend Nutri Source dog food.

I’d like to see the pups. When is this possible?2019-11-05T04:21:56-08:00

It is necessary for the pups to have had their vaccinations and be 8 weeks old. We have expectations that you will pick up your pup at the first viewing. Making accommodations  to view the pups earlier is difficult for us.  An earliest pickup date for each litter will be announced. Unfortunately no exceptions can be made to claim your pup early.

*Edit* Many customers have requested to view pups via FaceTime. We’d love to schedule a FaceTime viewing with you if our schedules align!

I’m interested in a pup. Can you please explain the process?2020-10-09T19:30:25-08:00

Being the first to place a deposit of $300 guarantees you the pick of the litter, and each choice thereafter is also determined by the order in which deposits are received. Please make sure to specify a gender preference.

Deposits are not refundable, but after making a deposit, you are welcome to select a pup from any future litter. In the rare case that you are not satisfied with your pup, we can replace it with a pup from the same litter or a future litter after the pup is returned.

I see a new litter was whelped. Can I see a pictures of the pups?2019-11-05T05:20:23-08:00

We  snap complete litter photos immediately after birth and more group photos in the weeks thereafter. Please check back for more litter photos.

The best individual puppy photos are taken after the first month. We look forward to individually introducing pups to you and the world through photos after week 4.

As a rule of thumb, time is generally best spent searching for and selecting the very best Labrador litter, then deciding the gender of puppy that you’d like. Please rest assured that you are making a fine decision when selecting one of our pups.

*Edit* Many customers have requested to view pups via FaceTime. We’d love to schedule a FaceTime viewing with you if our schedules align!

Our 2020 and 2021 Litter Location
